Niagara Escarpment, Flora
We spent a week in May 2011 at Niagara College in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, while my wife took a course. The campus abuts the Niagara Escarpment, and is provided with two lagoons, several walking trails, including a side-trail of the 800 km Bruce trail. These talking trails provided numerous photo opportunities to record the wildflowers, particularly trilium (reds and whites), jacks-in-the-pulpit, violets, and spring beauties. This process was not without its dangers; stretched out on the ground to get up close and personal to these beauties also put me up close and personal to a number of ticks which were later discovered on my body looking for tender spots to feed!
